Abstract:
Although much has been written about cross-disciplinary executive education, there is limited evidence
from non-top tier business schools surrounding the processes used to create those offerings. This paper
reports on a program that pairs the expertise of the School of Business and the College of Education and Human Development at a large public university in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States to create an alternative model of executive education that prepares executives in a specialized decision-making role – the role of Chief Learning Officer (CLO) - to deal with strategic issues and drive innovation.
