Abstract:
From Aristotle to Drucker, Friedman to MacIntyre and Sandel, academics and practitioners to media
commentators and various stakeholders, the responsibility of business to society has been discussed
continuously. Impacting these discussions is the status of the corporation as a “person” under the law.
This paper will provide a summary overview of those discussions and offer three parables, created by the
author, to address the chronic ethical crises in business that face society today.
