Abstract:
This article presents an overview of sixty-nine leaders’ opinions on their greatest achievement in life so
far. The leaders were selected through criterion- and snowball sampling, and resided predominantly in
the Los Angeles area, with some in other parts of the US as well as other major producing nations of the
world, such as India, Japan, and China. After a brief literature on leadership and some of the
perspectives on this dynamic topic, the study will be described and the findings presented. It turned out to
be that the achievements listed by the interviewed leaders could be clustered into three main theme
categories: personal mastery, professional growth, and wellbeing of people. The value of these findings is
that it brings to the surface a potential shift in awareness amongst leaders, which will hopefully spread
and be followed by others.
