Abstract:
This paper shows that the world faces an energy crisis but that the crisis is not due to the depletion of
fossil fuels. It is a manmade crisis. The crisis is being caused by environmentalist and other statist
policies around the globe. The paper shows that the solution to our energy problems is the abolition of
government controls restricting our ability to gain access to energy products. It states that the motivation
for the restrictive policies stems from the morality of self-sacrifice, while the morality of rational selfinterest
provides the basis for abolishing the controls.
