Abstract:
Replicating prior work (Godkin, Endoh, & Cahill, 1995; Godkin, Doughty, & Hoosier, 2003), this paper juxtaposes Japan-focused organizational behavior (OB) research appearing between 2002 and 2015 with that appearing between 1981 and 2001. The purpose is to inform four questions; (1) Has there been a relative increase in the proportion of Japanese-focused papers published; (2) Has there been a relative increase in the proportion of Japanese-focused OB papers published (3) What is the nature of Japanes- focused OB papers; and (4) Are there “gaps” in the Japanese-focused OB literature? The intent is to place the 2002-2015 work into context.
